"Not bad," he grinned as he approached the younger man. "You sure know how to throw together a party."
Reply
"'Course I do," He grinned before gesturing towards the alcohol. Of course he'd want to drink with his boyfriend on his birthday. Why not? Sure, he wouldn't be getting drunk here.
He'd just go to the bar later in the night and get drunk there. Woo.

This was supposed to be a celebration. The lieutenant would have been surprised if Goose hadn't gotten drunk by the end of the night. Besides, it was his birthday. Surge would let it slide.
"Been having a good birthday so far?" he chuckled.

After retrieving his food, he leaned against the table and nudged Surge with his elbow. "Psst. Just so ya' know, this is my momma's pot roast." He then took a nice, big bite of it.
Reply
By stealing Goose's plate. Taking a bite of the pot roast, he grinned. "Damn. I knew your mom could cook, but this is incredible."
Reply
He chomped into a piece of pot roast again before adding on, "Ain't it better than the way she did it last time? Heh, she kinda rushed it last time since we kinda popped up all short notice-like."

"Your parents cooked like shit or somethin'?" Oh yeah, what a blunt way to put it, Goose. Either way though, however he said it, it still would have had the same meaning anyway, so.
Reply
Oh boy, a question about his parents. Like he didn't see that one coming. "Eh," Surge scratched the back of his head, "Not really. I mean, they cooked fine. Just not anything amazin'. I think..."
Reply
"Well, 'least my momma'll cook good for ya'!" He grinned and picked up a nearby banana. He set down his plate, peeled the fruit, and took a bite out of it.

But the promise of Goose's mom cooking for him brought the smirk back. "Well good. Long as you don't mind sharin'," he finished off his current drink and reached for another.
Reply
"What, ya' gonna get drunk on me?" That would've been a twist. Goose not getting drunk yet, but Surge doing so? That was topsy-turvy!
Reply
But now wasn't the time for that. Grinning, he added, "Unless ya want me to. Since it's your birthday, I'd be more than willin' to play along if you oh so happened to say something along the lines of... oh I don't know... that ya drank me under the table." Not that anyone was going to believe that.
Reply
Incredibly wide.
"Y'anno I ain't gonna turn down that offer," He cackled, finishing off his pot roast and pointing to some rum he had. "If that drink ain't gotcha' drunk yet, maybe that'll do the trick, eh? Getting you drunk and dragging you home is the perfect opportunity to top you anyway! SWEETEST GIFT EVER."
