Omg - I do that all the time. Actually - I find I plot more when there's stuff I don't want to think about, but certainly not having someone to think about means I plot more too.
I guess mine is less how many characters can I cross over in some sort of plot semblance of insanity and how would it work in x-over pairings, who would be compatible? - I mean...I've gone there, but not so much these days - and more what random story can I use to fix canon and entertain myself today?
The random x-overs are the most fun though. I've got this persistant SG-1/SGA x-over that's been entertaining me for like...six months now. Oh - and the best type of x-over is the double-ups one. Where you have one actor playing two characters and the fandoms mesh and insanity ensues. I've been smushing things like...Nikki&Nora and Blood Ties, WMC and R&I, NCIS & CSI, L&O & WMC...N&N and CM. XD
And the purpose of this comment was to randomly babble at you - don't worry if it makes no sense. XD
So I fail...I haven't been on LJ in a billion years...well it feels like a billion years anyway XD
HAHAHA I plot stuff too. The other day, I came up with a crazy idea for a West Wing like show with women who played ADAs on L&O. Cabot/Southerlyn 2012 XD And this was AFTER I'd made a show called L&O ADA Island...Basically survivor with more bitching and way more devious plotting XD
I LOVE FIXING CANON! I need to actually post the story I wrote that fixed Alex's and Casey's departures...but duuude canon is so screwy these days it's not hard to fix it at all lol
hahaha the double ups are waaaaay too fun. Hell I've done double ups where two different universes OF THE SAME DAMN SHOW collided lmfao

DR WHO! Duuuude I really really need to work out my story where the rift opens and Torchwood and Dr Who have to fix it because it starts dropping people in Middle Earth and Narnia XD Greggo was gonna end up in Middle Earth and know exactly where he was XD

XD - I actually think I like it when they screw up canon. Fixing canon is easier than coming up with my own damn plot ideas.
Oh, yeah. I've done that too. A few times. Sci-fi rocks that shit! SG-1/SGA....Dr Who. Especially when you start in with clones and androids.
