Those of you who have been on my flist for years will remember all the many posts about Carrie. Well, she died this past Saturday. She was only thirty-eight years old. My first suspicion was that it had been suicide or an overdose, or maybe she'd found a boyfriend even more abusive than all the rest. As it turns out, they suspect it was a heart ( Read more... )

Well, it wasn't much of a loss for me, since I wasn't really friends with her anymore. But thank you so much. There will always be a special place in my heart for Carrie.

You cut ties, but her death removes the chance of reconciliation. I don't know if things were that bad, that you would not want to reconcile, but regardless it is a loss, and some people take it hard. Did she live a healthy life style?

I did not know her, but I always feel sadness when I hear people have passed on. I hope the afterlife is much better to her than this world was.

That's true. She had actually friended me on facebook and sent me a message several months back. I told her I didn't think it was possible for us to have a healthy friendship with each other, but wished her all the best. Had she asked, I would have been honest with her why I felt that way, and maybe we could have started a dialogue. I don't think she was strong enough to hear it, though, and never asked.

No, she didn't really live a very healthy life, either. She was normally overweight unless she was on some crazy diet, didn't eat healthy food or ever really cook for herself, drank, smoked cigarettes and pot, and who knows what kind of psyche drugs she was on these days.

If there is an afterlife, I really hope there's payback. She sure had a tough time in this one. If there isn't, at least her pain is ended.

I'm sorry to hear about this, Ryan.
Was Carrie the friend you made a mix for her wedding? I seem to recall she danced As, and you used to spend weekends with her, wasn't she?

Anyway, I'm sorry. I'm glad you're taking it so well.

Yes, that's her. The wedding was lovely, but kind of bittersweet in retrospect because that was sort of the beginning of her descent into Crazy. I guess we can at least say that she was probably happiest that day of her life.

Yes, I've not been all that upset about it, because I had to cut her off years ago. Still, it's very tragic.
