I am sort of half-learning FORTRAN. And IDL. Enough to get by. Most important lesson thus far: get programs you need from advisor's previous grad student and modify as necessary.

uhh .... interactive data language? I don't know what it stands for actually, but I think that's a good guess. Does math for you and makes plots.
