Homecoming in O-negative (RP for fullonobiwan & notantichrist)

Alec waited anxiously outside Admitting at the hospital, emotional nerves already buzzing. Sam had called not long ago and said they were almost there. He was both immensely glad to see Dean and worried about what kind of shock he was about to get. Sam had warned him, but he was betting that such warnings were worth shit when faced with the ( Read more... )

Sam pulled the Impala up to hospital Alec had directed him to. He was a wreck. He'd been up for the last seventy hours or so. He was running on coffee, speed (He'd stolen it from the hospital pharmacy while Elle distracted the pharmacist. He'd been a sucker for the blonde with a bright smile.)and sheer fear. He believed Alec that this would save Dean but he worried about making it there in time. He worried that for some reason it wouldn't take. He was terrified because he could lose Dean.

Dean was crashed out in the backseat but he came to when they pulled into the hospital parking lot.

"Come on Sleeping Beauty," Sam said as he got out of the car and opened Dean's door on the driver's side. Dean was going to let him help him into the hospital if Sam had to knock him on the head.

The backseat was nicer than Dean remembered. Of course seeing as the last time he was in it they were hit by a mack truck, not all of Dean's backseat memories were as good as the first- and last- time he had sex back there (not that that was actually a good time, but well it was sex so it was inherently good but- whatever).

Dean's backseat memories tended to stray towards, 'oh God oh God I'm going to die', or 'he can't die'. They weren't exactly Hallmarck golden memories, y'know ( ... )

He moved over to Sam and Dean the smile on his face pretty genuine. Dean looked like shit. Lets face it, it was pretty obviouse that things were touchy. "Jerk." He didn't like the way Dean sounded either. He's heard that voice before, as his own when he was his deep trouble. But Dean was flirting, which was a good sign.

Alec kept his hands in his pockets to keep from reaching out to help Dean and just moved close enought o catch him if he had to. He waved the nurse off when she tried to get a wheel chair. He couldn't deny the woman's logic, but Dean would just stress more trying to fight her off.

Sam wanted to bitch at Dean for not letting him help him. But it wouldn't do any good and it'd just make Dean stress out more. Dean's heart didn't need any more stress to be truthful. So he let him walk on his own but he stuck unnaturally close so that if Dean so much as stumbled, Sam could catch him.

Yes he was being over protective. He was losing Dean. Even if they saved him today, he was losing Dean. He had a freakin' right to be over protective.

He nodded grimly at Alec. His latest dose of stolen meds were wearing off and he hadn't had a cup of coffee in a couple of hours so the exhaustion and stress was beginning to wear on him.

Dean wondered idly if Sam and Alec knew that watching them onviously try to fight off helping him was hilarious. Because it was.

But hey, until he couldn't physically walk by his own steam they'd best keep being hilarious and stay back. He couldn't actually fight Alec, but he'd sure as Hell try. A fact he knew they both knew all too well.

"So. Where's my pretty blonde welcoming committee?" He knew Ally had to be there somewhere, or on her way there, or somewhere in the vicinity of 'there'. Not like she'd let Alec do this whole hospital thing on his own.

Plus, he seriously wanted to see something pretty and Ally shaped before his head exploded from too much SamandElle and too much Sam. A guy could only take so much PDA y'know?

Dean Winchester: I've been able to do my own since I was ten. *hows that for distraction conversation?*

Dr Sam Carr: *Dean's good, the doc will give him that* Yeah? *he looks up for minute* Alec can set his own broken bone and dig bullets out of himself. That doesn't mean he should have to.

Dean Winchester: Well it's not like we always had a hospital around or anything. Some sugar, some water, clear tubing and a bike pump, good to go.

Dr Sam Carr: *gets the line in and starts taping it down* I promise this stuff will make you feel a lot better than sugar water. *He refuses to be ruffled. After dealing with Zack it's pretty easy*

Dean Winchester: Ooh, liquid crack?

Alec McDowell: Nah, dude, he saves that for me.

Dean Winchester: My life sucks, man.

Sam stayed back, his hands shoved into his pockets while Dean and Dr. Carr did their thing. He retrieved a cup of coffee from one of the vending machines (the really awful kind) because he had to be up for a little while longer, just to make sure that Dean was okay. Elle was asleep in the front seat of the Impala and there was no use waking her up so that she could worry with everyone else here. He watched Dean and Alec both nervously, a thousand questions for the doctor but they all sounded stupid when he thought about saying them out loud, so he kept his silence and just watched.

Once Dean was okay (and he refused to believe he would be anything but) he was getting Elle, going to Ally's house and sleeping for like a week.

Alec stayed where he was put and just watched them all. He did frown when Sam came back with coffee though.

Dr. Carr was pleased to see that Dean already seemed to be breathing a little easier and let the man have his hand back. He stood, tossed the trash into the near by basket, dropped the used needle into the sharps container on the wall and gathered up his tray. On his way out he paused in from of Sam. "You need to lay down before you fall down." And with that he took Sam's coffee and headed out out the room. "I'll be right back."

"Come on Sammy, you're gonna crash," Dean said, nodding to the other bed, the one that was no more than three feet from him. His tone was almost pleading, almost apologetic, all tired. He just wanted to do that himself, friggin' sleep for a week. A month, maybe three. Waking up in Hell couldn't be that bad right?

Ally perched on the edge of Alec's chair, running her hand up and down the back on his neck- hard enough so that it didn't tickle, before letting it rest their over his barcode. Old habits die hard.

Ally loved Dean and Sam, she really honestly did- but she was currently wishing time would just speed up and this was just over. She was also thinking about pinning Dr Carr to the wall and demanding he do this someplace else next time. Some place that wasn't a hospital. If Sam whined she'd just kick him. Heart monitors could be plugged in anywhere and she wasn't letting Alec go through this again.

Dean closed his eyes, unwilling to look at his baby brother. He was the worst brother on the planet, no doubt about it. He'd asked Alec to do this without even thinking and he looked like a deer in headlights. With the faintest sigh he leaned his head on Sam's hand.

How much did it suck that he wanted to cry? Seriously. "Nope."

Sam shook his head. He'd make his apologies to Alec later. And if Ally had said something, well that could have been world war three. She might have kept John Winchester in line but he'd bucked John Winchester more times than he could count. Although, he was willing to bet that Dean knew each and every time because he was the one that seperated them before things got violent.

"I'm good. Just get it the hell over so I can go to sleep."

Right there in the bed with Dean. Thanks.

Dr. Carr raised an eyebrow at Sam. "You can sleep now. This is not an instant fix. Medically meraculas, yes, but not as quick as you'd like." He looked over to check on Alec. He reached out and took his pulse. A little fast, but not to bad. It wouldn't be long before they had a pint and that was absolutely all he was allowing for at least two days. And X5 could give more than that safely, but he didn't think Alec could. After another couple of minute he gently removed the needle and taped down a small and heavy pad of gauze in its place to keep pressure on the puncture wound for a few minutes. "All done."

He opened the window widely hopeing the fresh air would snap Alec pack to them. He was releave when Alec blinked at them and took a deep breath.

"I think I'll sleep now," Dean mumbled quietly. "Since we're on the subject an' all. Don't kill me in my sleep..." He hadn't opened his eyes and he didn't move so there was a possibility he was already asleep.

"One down, two to go," Ally quipped with a short laugh, still petting Alec and holding his hand. She leaned down and dropped a kiss on his forehead.
