Happy birthday Tsuyoshi ! Today's review is on the episode of Jounetsu Tairiku featuring Tsu, which gives a tiny peek into the acting life of Tsuyoshi.
And Tsu has indeed changed a lot through the years, in terms about his views to certain questions. One thing remains unchanged in terms of Tsu's personality. He is one who jumps right into his acting tasks with alarming focus and dedication. He doesn't talk or think about himself, just thinking of doing his utmost best to his work.
I watched Nakai's version of Jounetsu Tairiku, before coming across this episode featuring Tsuyoshi. I suggest that Tsu's version should be watched before Nakai's version as there may be a tendency to compare among the content. Mah, as one features acting and one features being a host, the nature of content is rather different. Plus, both Nakai and Tsu are different persons so it also affects how one percieves the content. Nonetheless both are episodes that tells us more about the person the episode features.
So without further ado, introducing today's review!
Jounetsu Tairiku 2003.01.12
This episode was filmed 12 years ago!! There are many changes neh, like there are so questions that Tsu will answer differently now as compared to his answer 12 years ago in this bangumi,
In this bangumi, they asked the fellow members about their thoughts on Tsu.
Kimura talked about how he doesn't really know about Tsu, he felt that he needs to spent more time with Tsu to understand him.
Goro talked about how Tsu is like a deity.
Shingo talked about how Tsu is always perceived as the "Good person" but in fact Tsu has another side of him that people will not perceive him to be. Tsu has many things kept to himself. Also, Shingo also says that when he sees Tsu troubled, he will ask Tsu what is wrong.Tsu will brushes it aside. When Shingo presses on, Tsu will blurt it all out.
Nakai just gave a "Really? (they are filming about you?)" comment.
Tsuyoshi said how he and Shingo always gets the task to cook food for other members during their concert tour.
The commentary also talked about how the smiling Tsuyoshi also has the very-serious-about-work look in his eyes.
And during Tsu's Yomigaeri filming, he was treated with some snacks by an old professional actress. She doesn't know who Tsu was, she just felt that he was a young actor who is natural and not pretentious.

The filming also followed him to South Korea where he did some filming as Chonan. The bangumi crew asked him about his take about his work. He say he wouldn't mind failure but as long as he knows he has spend his day meaningful-ly, he is contented.
Back in Japan, the bangumi crew takes Tsu to a coffeeshop popular among teenagers. They brought him there to spend the reamining 3 hours of his free time. Tsu didn't know much about the various coffee flavours available.
Throughout this episode's filming, the commentary talked about how Tsu kept emphasising about him being a part of SMAP is like a miracle and how he had devoted almost all his time to SMAP that he does not have much interest about current trends like coffeeshops etc.
Though it is about Tsu, I got reminded about how every SMAP member devoted their time to this occupation called "SMAP".
