Summary:  Tommy is gone, but there's still damage control to be done. (Tag for "To the Last Man" - so - SPOILERS)

You know, I think this is one of the only bits I've seen in which someone wrote Jack as being nervous about sharing simply because he'd spent so much time lying to survive. That's a long time to do so, and I can see him reacting like that.

Nicely written and very much, I thought, in character. The dialogue flowed well, as well.

Jack is *highly* guarded when it comes to personal stuff. He's learned to change the subject or simply give a non-answer with such authority that most people don't even realize he isn't giving them a workable answer to their question. I think he's pretty damaged too and would see revealing anything personal as being vulnerable and he doesn't want to give himself like that without being absolutely sure he's safe with that other person. He's just getting there with Ianto.

I'm glad you liked the story. I'm finally getting to a place where I can comfortably write their dialogue without second guessing everything I have them say. Whew! :)
