Clark was sitting in the sand and watching the tide roll back in. He wore his jeans, which he knew was slightly unorthodox but the sea gazing had been an impromptu sort of decision. His red bat-symbol muscle t-shirt lay discarded next to him over his boots with his socks stuffed inside. He slicked his hair back, running his fingers through it while ( Read more... )

Kon didn't see Clark come to the beach mostly because his back was to it. Instead, he was swimming out to the perfect spot to catch a wave. A few minutes later and he was whooping and riding the waves. He was in the zone and it was one of the best feelings he could manage to find on the island.

Clones. That was. Well, new. He wasn't sure how he felt about that. Well, no, he knew exactly how he felt about that, but it wasn't something that he was about to share. The kid looked harmless enough. Still, it was one of the things, when the whole business of cloning was in the news, that Clark had been afraid of. That his family had been afraid of. If the government did find him, want to use him as a weapon, or kill him - would they try and recreate what he could do?

It had always been a scary concept. It was scary enough knowing the things that he was capable of. There was more than one occasion that Clark didn't trust himself or was secretly afraid of what he might do. Maybe that's why he spent so much time trying to help people. To prove to himself and everyone around him that he wasn't a monster.

Lois. The name almost brought a smile to his face until that last bit and his smile faltered. Died. Clark had narrowly escaped death more times than he'd care to remember but... He blinked and grabbed his shoes. His brow furrowed, ( ... )
