I gots questions: ladydreamer March 8 2009, 17:17:34 UTC
1) Do our regular betas need to sign up or is that just for free range betas?

2) Say, I'm the person who might end up writing a 200 page fic over the course of several months... is there an upper limit telling me to retrain myself, or is it just whatever gets it finished while still being well-written (provided the beta doesn't kill me)?

3) As to the no incest rule, do you mean no incest at all, ever, not even in referenced backstory, or no incest as in, please don't have Lex and Lionel in schmoopy love having tea together?

Hey!

Beta sign-ups are for the free range betas. If you have your own, let them know what's coming down the pipe.LOL.

Don't worry about the upper limit, trust me. I've already started 3 entries myself. Basically, it's whatever you can have well-written and beta'd without your beta killing you before final posting. ;)

As for the incest, I don't have a problem with the faux-Luthorcest like Lex and Clark being raised together or during the Prodigal storyline. This rule more or less extends to the parent/child variety of the 'cest. A reference is fine, as long as, like you said, Lex and Lionel aren't drinking tea together and professsing their schmoopy love for the entirety of the fic.

Hope this helps!

Clex with them raised as brothers is what I'm planning on writing, so yeah, I came here to check that it was okay.

Are we allowed to to split the word count between two or more stories, or does each story have to be the 15,000 word limit?

Good question. Each story has to have a minimum word count of 15,000 words. You can write more than one story too, but each has to be at least 15k.

Hope this helps!

It looks like you are treating vids as fic instead of art?

Yep. Since there's an option to make a narrative out of the vid, so it's easier to lump them with fic.

I have been involved with this once before but have a few questions:

1. Is there a particular theme we are to follow?
2. Is it okay to go un-cannon or AU?
3. Will there be artists doing pics for successfully submitted fics?
4. Do have a list of folks willing to do collaborations?
5. Whats the final pull-out date?
6. Is there a plot bunny site? (my muse is snubbing me)
7. If we don't finish in time are we allowed to post what we have?

Great questions. I'll answer in order.

1. There's no particular theme to follow. It's all up to you.
2. AU are definitely welcome. Pretty much this is whatever you come up with that reached 15k.
3. We're working out the prizes for finished works.
4. There's no collaboration list, though we'd suggest working with a friend or someone you've worked with previously.
5. There isn't an official final pull out date. We ask if you need to do so, just email or PM one of the mods. We know RL happens and there's no telling what will come up by August.
6. The post at the top of the main page is dedicated to ideas and bunnies.
7. If you need additional time after the posting period, email or PM the mods. The goal is to have only finished stories posted.

I hope this helps and we'd love to have you!

Hi,

I do think the pairing changing along the way is a problem. I know a lot of us have started with one idea, junked it, and then rebuilt it into something entirely different. You have to do what's best for you to get your story completed.

Femslash! Sounds great.

I hope this helps. We'd love to have you participate.
