Note: Sorry, it's only 150 words. I was trapped at family gatherings all day, and didn't have as much time as I should have had tonight.
Bart loved midnight. He wasn’t sure what made it more special than any other moment, but there was something about that single second where one day changed into another. Logically, he knew there was nothing special about it, but it was exact. Midnight. Midnight was when they checked in, no matter where they were or what they were doing. Even if it was just to send a text message that everything was going according to plan, they always checked in at midnight. Oliver’s midnight, not whatever time zone they were in, so that made it harder to remember to follow, but it worked.
But he loved midnight the most between the old year and the new, when he had unexpectedly been pulled aside and kissed, soft and sweet, as the year changed. No other midnight could ever compare to that one. And he loved that time even more for it.
