Hey! It's really good to see you on LJ again. I often wonder how you're doing. And oh, I love Japanese bisque dolls very much too. Hope you'll keep posting, I'd be interested in anything you've got to say about the bisque dolls.

Y'know, I was about to comment about how many things we keep having in common... and then I noticed your icon...

You have a Grey? O_O My fiance has a Grey, but unfortunately his crazy ex-fiance has custody of her. He still gets to visit, though, & when said Ex goes out of town, we're first on the list of baby sitters.

Right now I desperately want a Parrotlet, though I'm not sure I'll be able to get one for a few years, yet (I mean, I can *get* one whenever I like... I'm just not sure I'll be able to spoil one properly for a few years).

My report on bisque dolls forthcoming... I keep waking up too late to photograph them (they're just begging for outdoor shots, so I need a bit of sunlight).

We do have a lot in common, I've thought about that before too. I remember when I did one of those LJ meme things it turned out that you were the person I had the most in common with (I had a lot less interests listed on my user page at that time!).

Yes, I've got 2 Greys, they live together but they're very different characters. The other one's a girl and she's a bit intense. This guy is just a lot of fun. We've got quite a lot of parrots... but I've never had a Parrotlet. I wouldn't want to live without them, ever. I don't like it that I can't ever go away anywhere, but I like having a lot of them because they keep each other company and entertain each other while we're out at work.

I'm looking forward to seeing your bisque dolls and hearing more about them.

I had to send my other comment really quick because I was at work and something started happening. I meant to say I was really sad to hear about your mom.

I'd like to add your other journal to my f/list if that's ok?

Absolutely! Don't worry if I don't add you back right away... I'm never completely "on the ball", & since I very rarely make friends-only posts, you shan't be missing anything.

I meant to say I was really sad to hear about your mom.

Thank you. It's so weird, her not being around. I'm still constantly catching myself thinking of anecdotes she'd think were amusing, or movies/tv shows/music she should check out... y'know, that I should tell her about. I'm getting better, but still... it's hard.

I would love to hear more about your parrots, BTW. I love living vicariously through LJ. :}

I know... it's been far, far too long... and the last time I was here, I didn't even get things properly up to speed, really.

If it's any consolation, I've been updating my rabbit journal far more than my "real" one. ;} And you're welcome to read either... bunny LJ = meatbunny, "real" LJ = zoloft.

Thanks muchly for the condolences & well-wishes. I tend to internalize most of my angst, but support from friends is always very much appreciated.

Fox & Dinah say hi back at you! :D They're also staring at me & chiding me for letting dust gather on their shoes. I've been a very bad doll slave...

Thank you *hugs back*

Isn't that poem the best? ^_^ It doesn't apply to Fox or Dinah, of course, but most of the rest of the doll/stuffie population around here identify w/ it quite a bit.

Thanks for the poem - what a little treasure it is!

I had two twin Japanese bisque dolls when I was a small girl...they've long gone into that place...where such things go...funny, even then, it was the boy I preferred...Please post about them!

I'm so glad others like the poem as much as I did!

I would say that I envy you having Japanese bisques as a kid... but I was one of those horribly abusive-toward-toys sorts of kids, so even if I'd had bisque dolls, they wouldn't have survived. Plus, I didn't like dolls when I was younger... so they almost certainly would have faced an ignominous death vs. my brother's Mirconauts and/or GI Joes, or been traded for model horses. ;}

I shall post about the bisque dollies soon, definitely!

That is such an amazing poem! I rather do feel like that about Arianna. I know my Luts dolls are better made, and newer, and prettier, but Arianna will always be my favorite. Although the blind part reminds me of my stuffed lion I've had since I was three... he looks like he has cataracs (sp?) and his nose is missing from when my dogs got jelous (seriously) and decided to chew on the other critters that slept in my bed since she wasn't allowed to.

Oh, your poor lion! You still have him though, yes? Although I'm a huge fan of The Velveteen Rabbit, I still get sad thinking about "worn out" childhood toys being thrown away (I can't imagine there are enough fairies to turn them all really real... y'know?)

I don't know if Arianna is anywhere near the same level as the dolls in that poem. Sure, she's not the most current BJD, but she's still very pretty & wonderful & I guarantee you that all sorts of people would envy you having her. :}

Of course I still have my lion, he's slept in my bed every night since I was three.

I know Arianna is in no sort of disrepear, but she'll probably go all yellow at some point since she's the old resin, but I still loves her just the same.
