i think it's kind of ironic to shield "innocent" children from seeing an art film [which probably has nudity comparable to traditional nude painting and sculpture] about, in its simplest form, innocence.
furthermore, i think that there is a difference between innocence and ignorance; innocence is more about experience, and ignorance is more about knowledge.

but I do think the irony of your situation at work is, indeed, kind of funny in a way, and it sounds like you have done a good job of handling a potentially awkward situation.

However, I do not agree with the title of this post "Art & Children Just Don't Mix." I think that all of the arts (visual, musical, etc.) are things that children need to be exposed to as early as possible in their life. I was glad once I read on that this is not what you meant :)
