You know what's fun? Blasting "Professional Widow" by Tori Amos while washing the dishes. Seriously. Awesome. Especially the end of the song - "Give me peace, love, peace, love, give me peace, love, and a hard cock." Fuck yeah
( Read more... )
I'm impressed that you're cleaning! (no, that's not sarcasm, I need to clean and have been too lazy to :p)
Uhmm.. I filled out a survey on myspace last night with interesting questions. You can do that. Or if you want to check out new music: http://aislutu.multiply.com/music/item/1328 and let me know what you think. Come on, give it a chance. Or you can check out that www.sixdegrees.org site I've been promoting everywhere. Or you can come here and rub my feet. I don't know. :p
Well, things were gross and since nobody else around here ever cleans anything... (Yes, that was a roaring comment towards my roommates. I mean, Steph's not bad about stuff like that but she'd on spring break and she's never here anyway. Yet she ends up doing most of the cleaning. But the other two... Yeah.)
I might do that survey. And I'll check out the multiply thing, too. And I'll see what the deal is with that website, though I'll probably get bored, lol.
Ohhh thanks again for the Tori clip! Hah. I love you for sharing that with us, seriously, thank you :D
And that sounds like so much fun, doing the dishes and singing along to that song. In general getting to sign along to powerful songs like that is sooo much fun!
I can't stand it when our dishes pile up. It just irks me, plus I hate the smell and feel of dishwater after it sits for a while. Sometimes I just have to do the dishes!
Yeah, it's gross. I think the thing that makes the most difference is piling them up so they're in a halfway neat order. I did that and it made the kitchen look so much better just from doing that. There's still a pile there, but most of them aren't my dishes, because I generally wash mine right away. I haven't been like in the mornings, because I don't want to be late for the bus, obviously, but I usually do. And what's disgusting is my roommate who leaves her dishes there (b/c it's really only the one roommate) doesn't really rinse them off, so they all have all this old food stuck on them! It's so gross!
I can't even stand to do the dishes unless I have some kind of music blasting. It takes my mind off the grossness that is old food.
Also, I really like Soul Coughing and there's this song that I can't remember the name of that I liked a whole lot - I know it'll seem painfully obvious when I figure it out, but it goes You get the ankles and I'll get the wrists - it comes down to this... What is the name of that song?!?
Ah, yeah, totally. The fact that my roommate never rinses her dishes and there's always a ton of dried food stuck to them makes me not want to do dishes...
That would be "Down To This." Yeah, it probably is one of those "duh" moments, huh? And yay for liking Soul Coughing. :) Seems like not many people are familiar with them.
They totally are original. I think they're probably a little out there for the general population, but I've always been into weird music, so it works. :) But I'm like, people love Beck, and Soul Coughing has a similar style to Beck, so I don't get why more people don't listen to Soul Coughing.
I'm not sure what to make of Hustling. I mean it's different from stuff I've heard her do recently you know? I think I like it. I just wish they would leak whole parts of songs instead of clips. That would make me happier.
It's almost 7PM and I'm wanting to go to bed because I'm just that bored. That's pretty damn sad. I hope you have a good day at work tomorrow and that you grow used to the schedule. I'm still thinking of where I could work this summer. I'm sure I'll find a place.
So how was your first weekend after getting a job?
Yeah, I only listened to it once and while I was trying to pay attention, I think it needs to soak in a little. I can't really recall the exact sound of it. And yes, whole songs rather than just clips would be nice.
Oh, I was like that yesterday. Definitely. I wish I would've felt like writing earlier, because I did manage to get a few poems finished, so that was nice. And now my weekend's almost over, and that's sad. :( But I think I'll get more used to my schedule this week, so it should be better.
My weekend was okay. I was here by myself most of the time, which was NICE. I have a feeling that it could be interesting now that my roommates are back, me trying to go to bed/get up. I mean, last week was just me and one other roommate, and her room is upstairs & she doesn't make much noise, anyway, but now that my roommate who lives on the same floor as me is back... I don't know, it could be interesting. And she was in a REALLY bad mood when she got back from work tonight, so yikes.
I think I know what it was about the Tori song that sorta made me feel weird. It was the heavy guitar. I haven't heard that from her in so damn long that I got sorta confused.
I went to bed at like 7:15. It's now 4:19AM and I'm wide awake. I just had breakfast. I know I'm really gonna fuck up my sleeping schedule but oh well.
I'm sorry that one roomie was in a bad mood. I hope things don't get bad between you and her. I know what it's like to have a noisy housemate. My brother Nathan is known to play extremely loud music at times. It pisses me off cause it always wakes me up. Or else he's going in and out of the house and slamming the door. It's like gah!!
Anyway, I better go and maybe attempt to sleep or something. So I'll talk to you later. Have a good day at work. :) *hugs*

And man, it was fun doing that. Especially when the music was just blasting loud. Damn.

I think Soul Coughing is so original, I can't believe more people don't dig it.
