Back then, when he was a prince and she was a princess, they had made a vow to stay together. They made it with love and good intentions. The vow led to the ruin of his planet and the destruction of her kingdom and her people. The vow led to his death and her suicide.
In the present, the vow bound them without their knowledge. It invaded his dreams, demanding that he search for the crystal, because the crystal would be with her; it drew her to him, even though he was her rival and maybe her enemy. The vow almost killed them both, but in the end, the vow was their salvation and helped them save the world.
The wedding, when it finally came, only formalised what they and their friends had known about for years: for better or for worse, for richer or poorer, death would never part them.
