Venus turned towards her friends, their eyes wide. She didn't know what the deal with the underground temple was; all she knew was that there was a big, shiny red button in front of her, and she wanted to push it.

"Don't push the red button!" She heard Artemis cry. "If you do, the world will explode!"

....Right.

Venus smirked as her finger pressed down. Artemis was always overreacting.

"AAH!!!"

It was, after all, just a button.

Artemis was wrong; exploding was the blue button.

Instead, the world sucked into itself seconds later and imploded.

The wave came without warning. It swept over Tokyo Bay like a hand destroying a sand castle. Michiru saw the white wall heading towards them, ran towards Haruka and Hotaru screaming a warning, but then the water took her. The sea sucked her up like spaghetti and tossed her body around from current to current. Then she woke on a beach, her body cut and bruised but alive. Why? Why had death spared her? Michiru buried her face in her hands and wept bitterly. In that moment, she would have given anything to be dead with her family and friends.
