In mid-July, I joined Rich on a business trip to NYC, staying in a posh hotel (where his conference was) in the middle of the theater district. It was a bizarre place (Marriott Marquis): the lobby was on the eighth floor, and the elevators were quite challenging. Yeah, well, being in Hawaii is a nice substitute.

It'll come back to San Francisco, I bet. There is also the thought of arranging a minicon around one of the showings.

It was a very last minute decision to go -- we didn't get in touch with anyone. Sorry!

The Hopper exhibit was great. It closes in mid-August, so you're running out of time.

I know the Marriott Marquis well; it's always one of the hotels we use when we have our big annual professional meeting in NYC. I don't recall the info kiosk, but in general the elevators are always a nightmare, especially the first day of the convention, with waaaay too many people trying to use them. You can wait for half an hour, easy.
