We do have vending machines in the office, although I wouldn't want to live on that junk food.
I'll mention your thoughts to the publisher's secretary. I doubt anything will happen, though -- any food will just get eaten, or the people who got stuck wouldn't even know it's there. I don't think I've ever worked in an office where there was a stash of food and water for emergencies.
I did leave a lot of those crackers in the office.
And it's hard to imagine we'd get stuck there for days. The fire department is across the street. I could see us being stuck there overnight; I should probably keep an extra supply of clothing either in my car or my desk just in case.
I think we have a "stupid skier law" (although it's not called that) that requires people who decide to ski off the trails and get lost to pay for their own rescue.
I'm way backlogged from LJ since our trip and trying to catch up at work too - but I caught this on the weather channel and never got to call - I'm glad you all made it through fairly dry :) How's the cleanup going?

We have so many of those we have to have an entire Stupid Motorist Law to deal with them.
