There were some girls wearing long dresses. MHS is very laid back when it comes to events like this. For example, in the 20 minutes I was hanging out at prom during the picture taking, no one came in a limo. Not all guys wore tuxes (Morgan, for example -- he was wearing his just-bought designer jeans).
Not having a long dress caused some issues when Caroline went to the scholarship conference in March. There was a formal event and the girls were supposed to wear their floor-length prom gowns. Caroline explained that her prom dress was cocktail length, and the staff was almost incredulous -- and not too happy.
In Morgan's defense, he goes shopping with the girls and they pick out the fabric. Unlike many designers, who won't compromise their "art," he caters to his client's wishes. At least he does now -- I imagine that will change when he's older. Also, the fabric in our local store is limiting. We'll see what happens when I commission him to make something for me.
Love, love the color of Caroline's dress! And I love the guy dressed in white! Brave man. :) Ah, I well remember the gaggle of parents taking pictures for prom.
