AHHH ACTION ACTION DON'T LET THEM KILL YOU BEFORE I GET THERE.pottershotterJune 6 2009, 06:11:48 UTC
[And James doesn't respond on the network - It's much faster to just run without trying to talk or type or anything like that at all. He was sort of useless anyway and really shouldn't have been running around trying to do two things at once. He'd likely fall and crack his head open on the stairs and then he wouldn't be of any help to anyone!
Even so, he was determined. He wanted to save Snape, to do something to make up for everything he had done to torture him in the past. He really hadn't deserved that and he had been such a cruel person to put him through it! So he bolted down the stairs. Ninth, eighth, seventh...it isn't until the sixth that he sees Snape. ...And no one else? It would be rude to doubt him though!]
Sni- [No that name was terribly rude and uncalled for.] Snape?!
THEY'RE GAINING WITH EVERY STEP AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHslytherinslieJune 6 2009, 06:19:49 UTC
[Snape's running, running, running... He's lost track of what damn floor he's on. Several times he's tried to hide behind plants or something, but they just KEEP COMING, so he's forced to run again.
The sixth floor looms long and tiring before he finally sees James. Relief... oh bloody relief - but wait did James just call him by his last name...?
Oh well, who cares? It's back up. Snape skids to a stop for a moment.]
J-james...
[Oh he's also wheezing- poor guy's been running a lot.]
OH MERLIN UH. UM. AHHHH WHAT DO I DO ALKSJDLASpottershotterJune 6 2009, 06:31:14 UTC
[James peers behind him...and genuinely doesn't see anyone at all. But he's willing to give him the benefit of the doubt! Maybe he just...did a good job out running them?
But...what did they do now? Oh, how was he going to hide Snape from whatever was after him?! He could barely trust himself - how could anyone else rely on him that way?]
Err...quick! Before they come back!
[James' eyes dart about, looking for somewhere to hide. Door, door there had to be a- there! He swung open the first door he saw and shoved Snape in, following afterwards and shutting the door behind him.]
Err. ...Sorry. I hope I didn't push you too hard?
[He's very meek-sounding. Even though they seem to be safe, he still seems concerned about having screwed it up somehow.]
SHOVE ME INTO A CLOSET ... I MEAN >>slytherinslieJune 6 2009, 19:31:16 UTC
[Snape was as clueless as James about the girls chasing him. He had no idea why they were after him, or who they even were. He just knew they were chasing him and he really didn’t want to get caught.
He barely got a chance to mutter something in surprise before he was pushed bodily into a doorway. Whatever one it was, the room was small and dark. Snape blinked a bit before turning around to address where he thought James was standing.]
No, no… I believe… we’ve given them the slip for now…
RIGHT RIGHT I'LL DO THAT wait what.pottershotterJune 6 2009, 22:19:43 UTC
[James breaths a sigh of relief at that, and the fact that the door hadn't belonged to anyone! They could have wound up completely invading someone's room and that wouldn't have been right at all.]
That's...that's good! I'm glad.
[James sort of hopes they don't come around any time soon. He's not sure he could really handle trying to save him a second time.]
You don't need to thank me. Really, I don't deserve it...not with how I've been. And I mean, anyone could have done the same thing...
NOTHING --- NOOOT AAAAA THIIIIIINGslytherinslieJune 6 2009, 22:25:06 UTC
[There's something off about James, but Snape can't really put his finger on what, so he glances to the side and realizes that it's still daaark in this room.]
It's more the fact that you were the one to do it...
[Finally, he gets fed up with the darkness and gropes around in his pockets for his wand. Why didn't he think to blast the girls chasing him with?]
OH ALL RIGHT THEN I'M RATHER GULLIBLE THIS EVENT ANYWAYpottershotterJune 6 2009, 22:40:53 UTC
[They seem to not be in a normal room, but a closet of some kind. There isn't much in it apart from the four walls and themselves, though if it is like the other closets within the mansion, they could will it with whatever they pleased.
James, however, looks very much not himself, and seems to be uncomfortable in his own skin. All of that cocky arrogance he had portrayed at school is completely gone, and it's been replaced by some odd sort of self-consciousness. Once the light goes on, his eyes dart away to a wall. He doesn't deserve to look at Snape in any way, shape, or form.]
I've treated you terribly though...really, it was the least I could do, with everything I've done to you in the past.
IT'S OKAY - I STILL LOVE YOU ANYWAY... er something likethat...slytherinslieJune 9 2009, 04:38:07 UTC
[Even with different memories and weird things happening, Severus is STILL a little taken aback by the apology, though he doesn't really dwell on why he's surprised. At the moment, he's more concerned with the broom closet and the sound of the girls running by the door every so often.
He shrinks back towards the back of the closet, though there's not much space, bringing his wand with him.]
It's...
[What the heck did James even do? Call him names?]
Helping me here does make things a little better, I'll admit.
[Was that a scratching at the door???? He shrinks a little further, voice dropping to a whisper.]
Wait what? I believe you might have said something odd just now (but I could be wrong orz I suck)pottershotterJune 9 2009, 04:53:10 UTC
[James listens closely, leaning against the door, but...he can't hear anything. There's no scratching, no running, just silence beyond the door.]
Err...[But...he wouldn't be running away from nothing, right? But he whispers, as though there really is something outside waiting.]
...I. I don't think they can get in.
[He turns then, with his back against the door, and sides to the floor] I think, even if I'm not good for much...I think between the two of us, we could keep them out of here.
Did i say something? I think you're crazyslytherinslieJune 9 2009, 04:59:54 UTC
[Of course, Severus can still hear the patters... the whispers... and as he finally hits the wall, he slides down it to the floor, wand still lit. Resting the stick on his knees, which he pulls up to his chin, he glances up at James. This has to be the STRANGEST incident ever with the Gryffindor.]
We have our wands still... Those will help. Just keep a good hex in your mind and we'll manage, even if they find a way in.
[Why the hell hadn't he thought to cast a hex on them before stumbling into the closet with James?]
O-Oh. I could have sworn you did? I must have been wrong, I'm terribly sorry, Snape.pottershotterJune 9 2009, 05:14:01 UTC
Mm. Right, I will. ...I'll do what I can.
[Even if what he can isn't terribly much, or even worth anything really. Snape seems to know what he's talking about, so James doesn't mind letting him slide into the lead there. Frankly, James can't remember many times he hasn't taken over situations like this (not that he often found himself in closets hiding from imaginary things) aside from situations with a certain Dr. X...and the kinds of thing she had been ordered to do through telli felly-tone tell eye foen that muggle contraption. But...his stomach sinks at the thought of being a leader, at the moment. There's no way he can act like that! That requires someone with...confidence.]
If I'm not being too forward, err. ...what's chasing you, exactly?
[James probably should have asked this sooner. He hopes it's not a monster or something horrific and nightmarish like that.]
Get your hearing checked.slytherinslieJune 9 2009, 05:26:54 UTC
[Snape eyeballs the door for a moment before sending a door-locking charm at it. Of course, this temporarily ends the light spell, sending the closet into darkness again before he can cast Lumos once more. Once his wand is lit again, he glances around.]
Well er... It's... rather embarrassing actually.
There's a bunch of girls chasing me and I'm not quite sure. Something about being an Animagus, but I've tried and nothing's happened.
[James glances at him as though he's lost his mind. He hadn't been able to hear a thing after all, and he's still fairly sure he would have noticed if there were people running about outside...he glances away though, refusing to admit this to Snape himself.]
That's a bit odd though. ...Sirius said there was something wrong with our memories. He kept saying I lost something pretty big...it's possible that might have...that might be the case for you as well?
[Of course, he means no offense by it, and is quite prepared to jump into a lengthy explanation if neccesary, because offending him is the last thing on his mind, though he probably won't see it as such and James feels he's probably screwed this up.]

I can't imagine that my memories would conjure something this... unique. I have never experienced anyone running after me.
[In fact, it was usually that they were running AWAY from him, a thought that's greeted with a sardonic smirk.]
What did Bla... What did Sirius say about it?
