Exactly! Times have changed and no longer are 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond expected to adopt a dull, frumpy wardrobe just to look austere or something.

I, too, will wear what I like when it's not a special event that I would want to conform with its traditional dress expectations.

Thanks! It's a macro photo so the copper/orange glitter is pretty noticeable in the picture. But I actually find it to be a subtle, surprisingly neutral polish, which I really like.

Life is waaaay too f*cking short for any of us to worry about what someone else thinks of the way we dress. For that matter, none of us should be obsessing over how anyone else dresses, either. Once again, life is short.

Love the manicure! My nails are currently orange. Like you, I do them once a week, with only touch-ups along the way. Or, I might add some glitter mid-week, but I do not remove my polish and start over again day by day. Life's too short!

If I dressed my age, I'd be wearing those ghastly Alfred Dunner coordinates from the women's section at Penneys.

Just. NO.

Thanks so much! I'm so glad to be feeling better too, because I believe that if I go into my upcoming surgery feeling positive and self-confident, then my recovery will be easier. No steadfast proof for this, but I really have found that attitude affects the physical being as well as our psychological state. ♥

I dress more for what I am at that moment than my age. Stay at home mom with no where to go? Got that outfit. Have somewhere to go? Got that outfit, too. But I never dressed too young even when I was young. My mom, on the other hand... that's an interesting story there.

I am glad you are recovering nicely from the surgery but I'm sorry about the knee!

What you're saying makes a lot of sense to me -- I, too, sometimes dress for the moment, like sweats on a cold, snowy day. OMG, I'm trying to imagine my mother in my clothing ... she would probably die of embarrassment. She definitely sports more formal casual wear than I ever would -- and she always manages to have jewelry and accessories on, and her makeup done, whereas I, otoh, am a frickin' mess half the time, LOL!

ETA: Oh, and thanks for the well wishes! It won't be much longer until my knee is fixed -- I keep reminding myself of this. And then I pray life will become much easier :)
