Thanks for sharing the "inappropriate things to say when someone is crying" story--it'll help put things in perspective for the difficult "oh no this person is crying, what should I say, or more importantly what should I NOT say?" moments.

I'm sorry, dear. These two should have known better than to be so insensitive in their profession. Usually people have very good reasons for crying/being frightened.

Ugh, I hate that! :( Unfortunately that's the sort of thing my mother always says to me when I'm upset. It makes me feel worse too.
