Speechless doesn't even begin to cover it dude
All I could have wanted in a Nancy/Silas fic and more and OMG
I literally highlighted at least one sentence in every section that I was gonna paste in here and tell you was my favorite.
ALL OF IT IS MY FAVORITE!

I love that you can even make Silas/Nancy fit right in there perfectly with the canon lol. Like pstch incest? MAKES PERFECT SENSE. Let Steph demonstrate.
Also love that you continue write these characters - and the ways they interact with each other - better than anyone ever. Especially Nancy.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH.
I cannot thank you enough for writing this fucked up pairing so perfectly. You are seriously the best
PS. THE ANGST IS DELICIOUS.

This got to the point where I just decided CROSS ALL THE LINES and went from there, I swear. Dancing around the matter at hand was not working, which I think is what held me up the first sixty times I tried to write this pairing. When in doubt, go balls to the wall. This is my new motto. Except, you know, without the balls. Balls not included.

Basically, though? If you showed me S7 by itself, I would say that Silas/Nancy was far more likely than any other ship on this show (including A/N) because the foundation for it was there. Forget that the whole season was basically a recipe for hate!sex, we also have Nancy's habit of, well, fucking people to gain the upper hand/exert control over them. It's not totally out of the question. Not on this show, lol.

I am so thrilled that you liked this! Like I wanna frame this comment. Seriously. Writing this show is such a trip but it's also kind of the most fun ever. Thank you so much bb!

I love the phrasing of this story ('and it only ever sounds like disbelief'), the way it's told in a nonlinear fashion that actually makes more sense, the repetition of ideas in variations, and that there is clearly nothing hopeful about the ending. This is such an awful situation written in such a lovely and believable way. You really captured the essence of the show: that none of them are really good or pleasant people but they're still fascinating and sometimes worthy of sympathy.

Nonlinear is where I live, tbh, but I think it works well with this show because these characters tend to repeat the same mistakes over and over to some degree. They're in a really ugly cycle that I don't believe there really is a happy ending for, even if I kind of hope there is. But, yes, I agree with what you said about the characters on this show: fascinating, horrible people. Nancy, especially.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! I'm glad you enjoyed this!

GAH!!!

So so so much love for this.

They don’t talk about how Andy’s still wrapped around her finger because he’s still in love with her - will always be in love with her - and how she will literally bang anyone who isn’t him, up to and including her own son.

And more clothes sharing. There is never enough clothes sharing.

I'm having trouble being coherent about this but saving forever, basically.

Ahh, I am so slow when it comes to reading/commenting on things sometimes! This was great. I'm kind of on-the-fencey with them as a pairing, but I really dug this. And oh man, this line: They don’t talk about how Andy’s still wrapped around her finger because he’s still in love with her - will always be in love with her - and how she will literally bang anyone who isn’t him, up to and including her own son. Sooooo on point. Man, you are so very excellent at keeping everything so IC. Like, this could be canon.

And Silas. Man. That poor son of a bitch. His misery was depressing, but so excellent to read. :D

I think I'm still a bit on the fence with them too? Like I can see it, and it's within reach, but it takes some amount of effort to actually grasp it. Overly long metaphor. The length of time it took me to finally sit down and write this is a testament to my conflicted feelings re: this ship.

I totally almost cut that line, for no other reason than the fact that I was trying to keep Andy out of this fic, lest he actually take over the fic. He tends to do that. See drafts 1-7 of this fic.

Sometimes I find Silas fascinating and sometimes I want to kill him, and thus I worked out those issues here. I don't see how he has a happy ending though. I don't see how any member of this family has a happy ending.

I'm glad you enjoyed this! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
