This is fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. Your Meredith is always completely spectacular, and this was no exception, with all of the heartbreaking sadness handled in such a Meredith way. And I so admire the writing style, I know I say that all the time but it's true and particularly in this piece. Incredible work.

And you already know what I'm going to quote.

“Where’s my sister?”

It’s worth noting, in the moment, the question isn’t where’s Lexie.

The bone was intentional. The fact that I'm considering writing something massively Mer/Lexie is also intentional. I know my friends, lol.

Holy SHITE!

I CRIED. And... WHAT? I'm so incredibly ambivalent about this show at the moment that I wasn't even sure I wanted to read this... but then I did anyway and... YOU KILLED HIM!!! And I didn't see it coming. And I know that, as far as this fic goes, it's not even all that central to the plot, but... when I read it my heart did this like, skip thing and my cheeks went hot and just... WHAT?!

You killed him.

Shit.

And I cried.

This was so beautifuly written.

And, oh...Alex!!! You made me forget to breath there for a moment. I didn't expect it at all!!! And I found out I am waaaay more scared about this than I imagined. Even just in a few words, that was a powerful powerful moment. I had such mixed feelings about the coming season. But right now I'd be happy just to see Alex alive and standing again.

Great job!
