This is so good. I like the idea that they all kind of come through this; and that things fall (unexpectedly) in place.

The undertones of Alex/Meredith were perfect, messed-up (yet not) and awesome; and I really got a sense from this that, approached this way, Derek and Lexie could work and make the shared abandonment a little less bad.

The writing was also gorgeous.

Awesome.

I think the word of the day (or fic, whatever) was undertones. Give me a pairing and apparently I write that plus about four others. I was all over the map with this. But, yeah, it was all kind of necessary to show the abandonment (cause, yeah, she left but you better bet both Alex and Cristina knew exactly where she was) rather than just tell it.

I'm so glad that you liked this! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Oh my...I always did enjoy Lexie and Derek scenes. And this? This was brilliant!

I love Alex's little moments and the mentions of Mark and Lexie's past. It's so believable and I could see this happening if Meredith ever did disappear.

The ending line was beautiful, "The room echoes the sentiment". Lovely and sums this up perfectly.

Seriously, amazing :)

I've taken notice of them before, in terms of character interaction, but never really put two and two together into a ship kind of context. Which is strange because that tends to be my ship M.O. -- little stuff here and there that isn't canonically anything much.

I fought with myself over the ending (I had a different scene at closing but I cut it at the eleventh hour) so it's great to hear that this version worked for you.

I'm glad you liked this! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

This was very interesting. All the shippers would shit if the show would flip all the pairings OMG. Anyway, I like this; surprisingly since Lexie isn't one of my favorite characters on the show.
