These were all so great. I usually don't like stories where the characters are younger, but I have to admit, I did like the first one set in high school. The fourth one with Izzie as the patient was so sad, but I liked how they gradually came together.

I loved this! I think you've really nailed here what makes an good AU so good - taking the characters and placing them in different situations, and exploring exactly how that character would actually act in that situation. The circumstances might be different, but they are still them. For example, I love this:

The boy, sitting in the chair farthest from her, appears to be having major issues with the world at the moment.

At first I couldn't quite place how old they were, but at any age, that is Alex Karev. I could totally see him being this way in high school.

Number IV broke my heart...but I suppose it was meant to. And I really liked V, if for no other reason than...it seems the most hopeful for a future for them.

Anyway, brilliant! Loved it.

As for the first part, they are in high school. What year is anyone's guess tbh.

The neighbors one totally warmed my heart, aww. That is so Izzie to steal Alex's mail for being a mean neighbor, hee!

I like the one you chose to end this with. It leaves me feeling light and optimistic for them. Actually, the whole order of this is quite nice and fitting.

I think the neighbors scenario was my favorite to write, tbh. It was such fun. And as for the order -- truth be told it's just chronological from how it would've happened according to the show's timeline, though the last one definitely is the most hopeful.
