You know, I really don't like Izzie much on the show. I do sometimes like her in well-written fic because it has a tendency to give her a dignity and thoughtfulness and reality that is sometimes brushed (because touched would be too strong a word) upon on the show.

Anyway - I loved this. I thought it was elegant and subtle and unflinching and kind of beautiful in a raw way (which is a sort of beauty I tend to like anyway). The writing is wonderful. I love future fics - I love the scope they give to be canon but not-canon - and this is one of the best I've read. Awesome work.

I don't like her on the show either. Fic is a whole different ballgame though, at least to me.

Future fics are really interesting, I think, because it gives you a huge span of time to play with and you can tweak the characters and blame it on change over time. It's fun.

I hate Alex. I don't like Izzie. But this was actually amazing. You almost changed my mind about them... almost. lol but either way, it was extremely well written. :)
