I -love- the bond between these two, and no one writes it better than you do, including the people who get paid to do it who have now made even this thing that once seemed as natural as breathing all clunky and awkward. (/not being bitter much at show)

The way Meredith is like a bulldog with him, fighting his own stubborn with hers, the way she looks out for him while trying not to underline it to obviously so that he shrinks back, the way she knows that even when he is in pain, he would never do anything to hurt her---all things that I love about them, all things that you've subtly and perfectly draped through this piece of writing.

And I love the weight on the killer closet over the bear---Hee! Too funny, but also, very them. :)

Well that's a compliment if I've ever heard one. The writers appear to have forgotten that Alex and Meredith were makeshift friends since very early on, and I agree that the writing for them, when it's there at all, has been very clunky.

I love the friendship between Alex and Meredith. They get each other in ways that their friends/significant others can't.

Guh. You write the best Mer/Alex fics. I could see this scene in my head as I read it. And I really wish it would happen, because Alex needs Mer to look out for him, even though he'd never admit it. That's why I love their friendship.

And maybe some of it is keeping an eye on him but it’s also because she misses him when he doesn’t show up for Christmas dinner and when she can go an entire day without seeing him at all.

They used to talk; they used to understand each other so much better.

And because of that. So freaking true.

Mer/Alex is my 2nd favourite relationship on the show (right behind Mer/Derek). I love how much they get each other and how much they've both grown and still get each other and care about each other. The fact that most of that is still visible on the show (while lots of other character / relatiion stuff went to pieces) keeps me still watching the show.

And you get both of them too, so this was pleasure to read.

I guess at least it is still seen on the show. For how many storylines they've dropped, and despite how hurridly put together it feels sometimes, there is that. They definitely also are something keeping me watching.
