I really loved this (as usual for your fics), but... I dunno, there was just something extra about this one, kind of sad but unapologetic at the same time. Like another reviewer, I loved the Christina POV, while I doubt that she would be quite that blase about it on the show, I definitely think that she would think it was inevitable (that Alex is the other party may disturb her slightly!).

I loved her showing Alex the dress. Very clever.

Of all the possible relationships/affairs on this show, this has always seemed one of the most likely to me and I think the fact that the writers have never gone there makes it even more sacred... unexploited... something like that.

Yeah, I didn't really give this the happy ending I wanted -- it definitely turned out unapologetic, kind of bleak.

I agree -- Cristina wouldn't be so blase, when I look back on that, but I'm sort of taking a lot of creative license here anyways.

You know what, knowing the writers, if they ever do go there...well let's just say I'll probably stop shipping it. They aren't the brightest sometimes.

It's sad but it's very alex and Meredith. I used to love that they got each other so much and I miss their interactions so yes i liked this.

I especially liked how you captured each moment and how it's kinda slow because that means there is no excuses, they could have had time to think..so that's the way things must be.

I do miss these two, irrational amounts considering they were never all that much to begin with, so in a way I'm glad I wrote this, lol.

It is very slow, very much about thought, but I think it would be something that's drawn out. You know, people do things until they get caught or until it gets complicated, and it wasn't really either of those things for these two, they just kind of realized they weren't going anywhere like this so they stopped. There's something a bit sad about that prospect.

I joined just to comment! I love your stories and I love the way you write these two together. Alex is my favorite and I am just SO over Izzie right now, so this was perfect. Maybe because I just don't like Derek that much, but I have always thought that Alex gets Meredith so much better than Derek. To be honest, I don't always like Meredith that much either but I like her with Alex and I always like her in your stories!

My two favorite lines are:
"Meredith wonders when she stopped being the Grey that everyone talked about" and "watches him feign sleep like she can’t see right through all his acts by now." Its like they still go through the motions even while knowing that they are transparent to one another.

Alex is getting very little love these days, and your stories are a huge bright spot (even when they are sad), so please, please keep it up!

I have also always thought Alex gets her better. But then again, I pretty much think everyone gets her better than Derek (not a Derek fan, go figure).

Alex/Meredith!! You certainly didn't disappoint with this one. You did a good job working around how everything currently is on the show and made it believable. My fear is that with relationships and story lines as they are now that people will start thinking less and less about these kind of non-canon pairings, so I'm glad you're still here shipping them with me

I told you I had this in the works; I'm definitely still thinking of the un-canon pairings, just not having a lot of time to write them unfortunately.

The only time I do fluff things with them is friendship fics, short little comment type stuff. It's interesting to do that, but it's almost more interesting to write this.

The thing with happy endings...you think you want something but after wanting it for so long your expectations eventually become too high i think -- and that's sort of what we've got here. They both wanted this for so long, lo and behold maybe it isn't everything they dreamed, and so they're going for something where they know what to expect, they understand the other person. It takes the guesswork out and it makes things a little more predictable and under control. At least that's my take.
