The writers haven't really had focus on much of anything lately. I really hope they can bring S5 back to where it needs to be!

Rose/Finn! Once I realized that it was him I got a big smile on my face because that really would be perfect, wouldn't it? Very interesting take on her character. I enjoyed reading this, even though I'm not the biggest fan of her character on the show (not for the obvious Meredith/Derek reasons, but because the writers turned her into some horrible, 13 year old girl and it was painfully obvious she was stuck in there only as a vehicle to force Meredith to get her act together). I also love Finn, so it was nice seeing him in a fic again. Rebound relationships unite!

Thank you for this. I'm a bit of a Rose apologist and it's nice to see someone else writing her with some sympathy. It's not something that's easy to come by.

I wish I had taken the opportunity to write her more before the season started since, like you, I'm pretty sure the writers are going to fuck her over like no one's business. *sigh*

The Finn encounter was interesting, though I liked that you had her back off immediately.

What I hated about this whole arc is how it destroyed my favorite character (Derek) in a way that I can never respect him again and how they portrayed both rose and Meredith. I really couldn't stand listening to Shonda call rose perfect and a real woman and... while on screen I saw her flirting and getting involve with a man she knew was in another relationship (I don't care how dysfunctional that's not the point) she knew he asked her out right after breaking up with Meredith, his ex-wife called him a rebound, Derek told her that he didn't want something serious with her and she still didn't walk away, it's hard for me to respect that. And it makes me angry because they could have portrayed her as a strong woman who sees right through Derek's shit and maybe helps him evolve too instead we saw a weak woman who worshiped the ground mcdreamy walks on because he has pretty eyes.
