I loved this, especially since I've been obsessing over the house spoilers since I found out about them (so much for going spoiler-free til the premiere). I can definitely see this happening in S5, and I cannot wait. I don't think it's realistic to expect them to just dive headfirst into domestic bliss. What you've done here seems much more realistic, and much more them, especially with Meredith. Has she ever really had a happy, even a stable, home life before? All the closeness and the sharing of space would probably seem almost smothering to her at first! *sigh* I just loved this. How many more days til the premiere?

I have this fascination with what Meredith moving out will do to everyone -- even before the spoilers, since I kind of could've guessed that would happen. And yeah, I don't see domestic bliss happening for awhile. Anyone who expects that is living in fairytale-land or hasn't ever been in a decent relationship. It doesn't work like that -- definitely not with these too.

great fic! i love reality can't we all relate to it so much more? lol. I think you got Derek just right bc i don't believe he'll try to force Meredith into anything. He's grown and realizes she needs time to adjust. He's just happy she's finally confiding in him :)
