That's just so...it's perfect, really. Boone was really the only one who did know her as she used to be and her wanting someone to see her and still know she had more to her than it seemed...it's heartbreaking and beautiful. And it feels right that it'd be Jack who she'd turn to, because it's almost like Shannon keeps her real self a secret and no one is better trusted with secrets than Jack.

Boone was the last person left who had seen both sides of her, who knew her at her best and at her worst, and I think in losing him she may have lost a part of herself, a reminder of years past. I think maybe she could've confided in Jack, after all you're right, he does keep secrets well.

That is wonderfully written; I love how everything is interweaved with Shannon's wounds, the real ones and the ones below the surface, and how she's trying to heal.

She kisses him then. Because it feels like the thing to do.
