Mark and Meredith always have interesting conversations. Although half the time I', still trying to figure Mark out and figure out when he's playing to get someone and when he's being honest. For some reason I like the thoguht that he's still kinda in love with Addison.

One question:

understands that, sometimes, learning to let go is either than setting yourself up for disappointment.

Shouldn't that be easier instead of either?

Very good one shot:)

Mark circa Season 3 and then Season 4 are two different people, IMO. He's less with the making plays these days, he's growing up, and I love that about him. So most of the time, IMO, he's being honest.

Also, I rarely have time/willpower to go find a beta and so therefore these things happen. Luckily I have you to find the little mess-ups. And I thank you for it.

I'm glad you liked this! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

*nods* Most of what he says in Season 4 I believe. Its stuff in season three where you wonder. Although I do believe he was tellling the truth when he said he loved Addison and the whole baby thing.

I think the one scene where it shows he's changing is when he tells Callie to go after Erica. Its slow, but it is happening.

No problem:) Any time you need a beta I'm available.

Oh I believe that too. And while I believe he'll always love her (I don't think you stop loving someone) I think he's moved on.

And thanks hun, I'll definitely take advantage of that with Grey's fic :)

I love this! Meredith and Mark really do make good friends and this feels perfectly like a conversation they could have.

Originally, I kind of had this need to make this Meredith/Mark instead of, you know, not. And then I just...couldn't. The Mark we know in Season 4? That's not him. Maybe Season 3 but now, now that he's matured some, now that he's on good terms with Derek, he isn't going to let that go that easily. So them as friends will work for me :)

I'm glad you liked this! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Mark and Meredith is my friendship OTP. You totally nailed it.

stupid conversations about moral resignations over a few drinks - beautiful. And those stupid conversations are never meaningless.

Great job!

I think they're interesting -- I used to ship them but it doesn't fit where either of them are at right now, so this made more sense.

And yeah, they never are meaningless. As someone who has those conversations I know what you mean.

I'm glad you liked this! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

This is really perfect. I love this glimpse into Mark and Meredith's understated, compatible friendship. Beautifully and fittingly written and very insightful. It resonates with feeling that nobody ever quite says, but both they and the reader totally understand; and, no, Derek never would! Wonderful job.

They would work well together, simply because they both have issues that need to be worked out, and honestly these are similiar issues. So I like the way that the unsaid is the most important, and yet is incredibly clear.

I'm glad you liked this! Thanks for reading and reviewing!
