Oh, wow. This is so Claire, from the childhood conflict with her mum to the way her perspective differs from Sawyer's... This is one of those pairings that I've never really "seen" before, but that works well in a [post-]S4 context, and I love your take on it.
I kind of like to play with Claire's childhood, I just rarely do. It's not done all too much, from what I've seen, so it's less cliched.
I've been playing with Claire/Sawyer in my head since about Season 2, but the more I see of Season 4 the more I can see it playing out on the show. I'm glad you can too.
She draws landscapes, the only thing that seems to be a constant no matter where she is. The sky and the earth beneath her feet will never change and she takes comfort in that since there’s little else she can.

She can’t think that all that’s left for them is endless seas and blue skies and blank walls with images out of a book that begins ‘once upon a time’. That, while they certainly weren’t born here, they will live here and die here, and all that will be left of them is dust in the wind.
So. Lovely.
Really, all of this is lovely, from start to finish.
One of my favorite things about it, I think, is the way it manages to be at times heartbreaking but yet ultimately rather uplifting.
It's...okay, I call this arty. Literally, duh, because of the drawings and stuff, but also it's kind of chock full of metaphors. It's kind of different and I've only ever done something like that one other time.
This was adorable. Really. Very beautifully and delicatelly written. I found Claire lovely in here and that's a good point, because I'm not liking her very much these days. But you made her amazing :) By the way. I don't know if you chose it because of it but the title forms part of a song called Forever, by Stratovarius. Everytime I listen to it it reminds me of Lost.

You do write wonderful things like that. All the time. And don't you forget it!
I'm glad you liked this! It's always great to hear that from someone who writes them as well as you do! Thanks for reading!
