That Cassidy is the one who wrote Kate that letter about her mother and sent her the money is just a really great connection you've made, a really perfect choice. I absolutely love it. This is a great story. :)

I watched Left Behind last night, got on a Kate/Cass kick and couldn't figure out how to work it. So in the process of researching I remembered that letter that Kate got and there was my story.

Oh, wow. This is a brilliant alternative route (no pun intended) - and far less sad a one than canon has given us. It's quite something to realizing how easily it could have happened this way instead, and how much better off Kate (and others) might have been for it. This is the kind of thing that never would have occurred to me, but that's really interesting to see played out.

Ahh, I didn't expect this to end up explaining a canon mystery, I was just enjoying more of Cassidy and Kate, together again! I like this a lot.

I still love this idea. I'd kinda forgotten that we never knew who actually sent her that letter (although for that period where we thought Cass was her sister we thought it could be her) and this is a great connection, very believable. And no, this isn't anything like what I was going to do for AtC.
