It's interesting that until the last line I read this as a Shannon POV. I think most of it could work both ways.

I've always been a Shannon/Boone fan. It was like my second main ship (since i'm not a Charlie/Claire fan, there was nothing else I was really into). So, I'm really glad that you saw something in this that you liked. They were two characters who just felt so real to me, and very much got under my skin.

Interesting take! It does seem like the scene in the Sydney hotel didn't exactly come out of nowhere for either of them - and that they both would have pretended otherwise. The years' worth of denial about "everything else" also fits in - as long as there's some invisible line they haven't crossed, they haven't done anything wrong, or that's how they justify it to themselves. And the denial is spot-on. Excellent work.

There is no way that the scene in Sydney was just out of the blue. I'm a firm believer in that. These people are all about denial. No reason that they should be any different.
