I love Meredith/Alex bantering. And there wasn't going to be no post-coital cuddling, so there had to be something.

And of course it didn't mean anything, it's not Izzie/George, and I'm not Shonda Rhimes.

So it's good, because I'm nervous about this one?

I think at some point they'll go down this road (it's kind of hinted in Shonda Rhimes' blog) but I don't want it to be forced and I don't want it to mean something you know?

My dialogue is rarely called humorous but that's what I was trying for so thank you for that. The thing that's great about writing characters you actually understand is that you don't lose them in the process of ficcing them. Which is why I prefer to write these two.

Oh, hello, that was a fantastic read. :) I liked their conversation in the beginning where they were essentially talking to each other but not with each other, that was very well done. And like others have said, the post-sex banter versus post-sex cuddling was a great (and the right) choice and well written. And, lastly, the end: the comparing inappropriate people/places was just perfect.

I generally dislike Meredith (though I suspect that has a lot to do with me not liking Derek's flakiness toward her and her resulting WTF clinging) but I could definitely get behind this pairing.

I'm glad you liked the dialogue. This is probably one of my more dialogue heavy stories actually, so it was a nice change of pace to write. I don't really like the overly-fluffy cuddling thing, so I tend to steer away from it, especially if it doesn't fit the people, which it really doesn't here.

I'm not a Meredith fan lately (nor of Derek) but I think a lot of that has to do with the two being together, so of course this is a favorite alternative of mine.
