Great ending! This fits nicely into what we've heard about upcoming episodes and about the characters themselves. Yay for Jack checking Kate out! I love that reference, and it works because it's similar to what Jack did with the story from when Kate was stitching him up.

I wanted to write something with Juliet but ran out of ideas. Hence this. But when I went to have Jack make a reference to something only him and Kate knew I didn't know what to use. They already did the counting thing, and my other idea didn't pan out. And then voila I remembered that episode and that scene.

For some reason, I really liked Jack asking her if they were being watched as he brushed by. It's a nice little detail that would have been easily forgotten, but makes perfect sense and really needs to be there. The fact that the beach is now home for Jack...love that too.

I'm into the little slight details lately. I'm not sure why, but I take it that it's a good thing from your comment. And I think many of the survivors have, on some level, accepted that the island is home for the time being. Perhaps idefinitly. But that's just me.
