So, after roughly forever, I am trying to get myself active again on DW/LJ. The last year and a half or so have been pretty stressful and inconvenient for fannish things, but I feel like I have more time now. I'm pretty much settled into my new job, finances are straightened out, and I'm buying a house (assuming its pipes have not been destroyed

Good to see you! The SGA fandom is still here--if not quite as strong as it was. I think a lot of folks feel the same as you...nothing's quite like SGA.

Yeah, I think it's hard to find something with the same combination of a good team and supporting characters, an interesting setting, and a sufficiently open-ended plot that there's plenty to play with.
