Lords, I'm finally - after over two years of owning the dang thing - starting to fiddle with the visual sound design interface on my microkorg. Microkorgs are totally sweet. Two weekends ago Kelly and I recorded with our friend Joel, who had recently become acquainted with one. The built-in vocoder is a big draw.

You can hear the demos---most of the MK is in "sweet city" and "smooth galaxy" with a little snippet of vocoder at the end of "in space".

The interface could be worse. The knob-tweaking is much more interactive then the button press editing of my Kawai K1.

Congrats on the four oh.

Yeah, Microkorgs are great, though a lot of the presets are dull. Matt (my musical coconspirator) and I have been using them in our collaborative jams - and I keep trying to get him to get one......

I was referring to the computer software interface (via midi) - the knobs are good enough for live performance but I like the infinite memory afforded by its librarian function.

I definitely hear the microkorg in "smooth galaxy" and "sweet city".
