les livres pour janvier

Feb 01, 2008 19:50

I didn't really put it up here, but after seeing flisters resolving to read fifty books this year I decided to do the same and try to read at least a book a week, since anyway I've been on trains a lot of the time and need to be somewhat productive.

pour le mois du janvier:

  1. 1001 Nights of Snowfall by Bill Willingham ( Read more... )

I'm reading At Swim Two Boys right now. About fucking time, since I bought that book 2 years ago. :|

It'll take about that long to read it, too, as personally I found the language thick and heavy but I would read it and get the feeling that I was wading through something gorgeous and breath-taking and altogether awesome. Like trying to move out of a swamp where you're buried waist-deep and then suddenly realising you're not in a swamp, you're wading through a FIELD with waist-high grass and sunflowers at sunset.

I thought I didn't have time, but I think if you commute a lot you'll be able to read during that time (unless you use the time for studying? :P).

I do commute a lot, but sometimes with hordes of people and desperately trying to catch balance reading/studying/holding notes is practically impossible.
But, yeah, I usually try to study in buses :P

Yeah, if you're commuting at rush hour too and everyone's squeezed in and you're in danger of falling out of the train any minute it'll be difficult to read. :P That's the only real time I have though, because I've tried reading in bed before I sleep, and there's just no stopping me until I finish the book, or else I'll feel like a failure. :| It's screwy logic, I realise. :|
