I've been to 3 or 4 theme parks in Europe so far, and it's really interesting to see how often Disneyland is imitated.

Or maybe it's the reverse. I visited Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen a few years back. The park predates Disneyland by over 100 years, but the layout and other aspects looked suspiciously familiar. I'll bet Uncle Walt paid the place a visit or two before he started work on his little project.

You're absolutely right. Walt reportedly visited parks in Europe before Disneyland opened.

I guess I was referring to the dark rides themselves, which appear to have been built after Walt's death...

But yes, certainly, Walt got inspiration from other parks like Tivoli!
