Home-buying adventure monkey wrench in the works

I knew my condo-buying adventure was going too easily. My realtor called today to say the underwriter is unhappy with the appraisal. :C Apparently this is a very rare thing. (Personally, when it comes to beating the odds, I'd rather win the lottery.) He's going to call tomorrow after he's talked more with the loan officer, but I might end up having ( Read more... )

I'm so sorry! I hope you at least get to know what made them so unhappy. Hoping this is something that can bed straightened out for you but ugh I'm so sorry you suddenly have this tossed in your path to deal with!

Thank you, phil! It seems I'm going to have to use a different lender, one with deeper pockets. Come to find out, the underwriter's assessment put the value $12k below what we offered and what the appraiser found it to be worth. *sigh* :|
