Spicer is back at the vet, but this time it's my fault.

On Tues evening, I had to move lilies inside b/c of apartment painting. Soon after heard Spicer vomiting, discovered it had a lily leaf in it. I googled "are lilies poisonous to cats". Yes. Yes they are. No cure, they can only try to dilute. Covered lillies with old shower curtain and tablecloth, stuffed Spicer into carrier, and sped to emergency ( Read more... )

our cats do try us.... glad to hear that he is doing better and is cranky enough to attack medical implements.

Cats will chew on anything, plants arent the only things.. sigh.

So very true, both things!!

Spicer seems to have come through without incident. His tests were normal--for him, which still means some of his results are off-kitler. :P Anyway, he's home now, no more catheter, no more Cone of Shame, so he's happy again. C:

I am sorry kitty had troubles but I am glad they are recovering, even if they are making trouble about it.

Spider plants and gerbera daisies are both cat-safe, if you want to replace your lilies with something better for cats.

Good to know! My parents' housecats nom on the spider plants they have all the time. That's one way to prune them, I suppose!

My lilies are always outside on my balcony, safely away from my indoor-only cats. I had to bring them inside because of the stupid exterior painting. X| They're back out there, now. And if I ever DO have to bring them in again, I'll be taking all sorts of anti-cat precautions! I don't want a repeat of this at all.

Spicer-kitty and I might not be so lucky, if there is a next time. T.T

Those kitties just want to chew on everything. Mine was eating a hosta, which I think is in the lily family. So, I bought them wheat grass to munch on.

Poor kitties.
