One afternoon without battle, hard sailing or any other obstacles, the first and second commander of the Whitebeard crew shared a quiet moment together on the deck of the Moby Dick. A soft wind blew over the waves, and the two of them sat down in the shade of the railing.
“So, any progress?”, the blond man asked, breaking the silence. The raven cracked one eye open, looking at the phoenix.
“On what?”, he asked, accompanied with a yawn. He sat up properly and rubbed the back of his head. Looking over at Marco and noticing the other man's dumbfounded look, he grinned, instantly knowing what he was asking him about.
“'s okay.”, he said, nodding. “I mean, he can't look at me without looking like he's about to explode, but sure, it's a progress. Remember how he was in the start?“ Ace smiled and nudged Marco with his elbow.
“I do remember how he was in the beginning. That's why I'm talking to you.”
Confused, black eyes met the phoenix's brown ones. The older man sighed ever so slightly, and ruffled his younger friend's hair.
“All I am saying is that you ought to be careful. You're young, and even if you're far from dumb usually, loves does make you sort of an idiot. Just please, never forget that you're a pirate and he's a marine. This whole crew would go heart broken if something ever happened to you.” The blonde man smiled slightly, one side of his mouth quirked upwards a bit. Laughing, Ace tried to hide the slight blush that threatened to invade his cheeks.
“Don't worry, Marco... I might be a little foolish, but I know one thing. That commodore won't hurt me, can't hurt me. It took a while of various baits, but I promise you; I've got him on my hook for sure.”
