My humble contribution: a short Firefly vignette just under the wire! And valentines to shrift, may she wear leather skirts and raise one bored eyebrow in perpetuity.

Things Alchemical
lacking spoilers, racy material, and anything resembling a point.

Oh very nice.

And I have to quote it as well: "I reckon because it keeps him on a regular schedule of brooding. Got to clean your weapons faithfully."

Great line!

I loved the dynamic that was growing between Mal and River on the show, and you did a great job with it here.

Vee!Fic! *bounces*

Ah, this? I like this. I like this Mal: he's dark, but not unfriendly.

He grasped her around the wrist, unyielding, but slow and calm the way he was around cattle and spooked horses.

Nice line. Eloquent vignette.

Oh, dude. Who needs racy when you've got something so quiet and perfectly characterized?

Zoe brings the understated funny, and a bunch of people have quoted your line about the regular schedule of brooding.

She rested her cheek against the back of his neck, above the collar of his shirt like an ice pack or a yoke.

It's just like Simon to think of things this way, a double-think of medicine and burden.

And I love the dynamic here:

"Better now?" she asked, and pulled out a chair to sit.

Mal picked up the file again, returned his concentration to the bit of steel. "Tolerable," he said, and whisked again at the burred edge.

I like that Mal's a little gentle around things that are broken.

Yep. Love it, and I'm delighted that you wrote more Firefly.

Thank you!
