I am so pissed right now.

Normally, World Religions is a pretty okay class. The teacher is boring, but the subject matter is interesting and the readings assigned are good. I thought maybe student discussion could improve it.

Until, today, we had student discussion.

A lot of my discussions with my dad make a turn for something like this really quickly. :\;; The blanket "I'm your dad so I'm right and you're wrong" thing is infuriating, but after a while I just stop thinking about it. The guy doesn't have the power to control the way you think, and as long as he doesn't go out of his way to try to change your mind, it should be fine.

This whole thing about religion is dumb in so many ways, though. I can't believe someone like him got to become a professor. Or teacher. Whatever the hell he is. Some of my semi-illiterate classmates from middle school could be more mature and intelligent in a discussion than him. If he wants to stand in front of a group of people and forcefully scrape any individual thought from their heads and stuff them full of his opinions in their place, that's downright wrong and there should be something that can be done about it.

I'm sort of worried about anything you'd have to turn in. :\;;; It's not a class you have to write persuasive essays for, is it?

No persuasive essays, just the usual compare/contrast song and dance. I'm saving everything for the end-of-semester reviews. Idk, man, you'd think a guy who also teaches a metaphysics class would be more open?
