For the past couple days, I've been participating in an SGA drabble tree @
mcshep_match, and it's been a load of fun. Drabbles are interesting creatures: easy because they're only 100 words, but difficult because you have to tell an entire story in only 100 words.
Anyway, I started thinking it would be cool to have a Supernatural drabble tree, since we have so many creative writers in this fandom, and when I bounced the idea off
estrella30, she seemed to like it, too! So, I decided to go for it.
Here's how it works:
A drabble is a story in 100 words, no less, no more. You can find some good thoughts on drabbles
here.
In a drabble tree, one person (in this case, Nancy) will start the tree with a drabble, and people will reply to that drabble with their own, and people will reply to those drabbles with their own, etc. creating branches.
You must use a word or a phrase or a sentence from the drabble you're branching from, but you are not required to create "sequels"; your drabble can be a completely different mood/style/pairing/etc.
Anyone is welcome to play; feel free to pimp this -- the more, the merrier. And there are no restrictions on content, so, you know, caveat lector. You can play as many times as you like, but please post each drabble separately, even if they're in response to the same original drabble.
The game begins when
estrella30 posts the first drabble is ON!, and ends sometime this weekend. (And in case you were wondering, the prompt I gave her was "camouflage". Heh.)
