You guys, I don't even know - I'm not even American, but like, I'm crying. This changes everything. A visible minority is president of the United States of America. America elected the vibrant educated vital man over the decrepit misogynist racist one. I just. I'm so hopeful right now.

I'm going to remember this for the rest of my life.

I'm in shock right now. I don't think I've ever been this invested in anything government related. This is INCREDIBLE.

This changes the world. I know so many countries that were ready to write America off under McCain's administration. They're willing to wait and see what Obama does - they're willing to believe in America again. It's incredible.

I <3 the American public right now. Because they had a choice to make, and they made it, and it was the best one possible. "The audacity of hope" indeed.

Not American, but I am still so relieved.

YES.

Because this impacts EVERYWHERE. It makes a difference globally. I don't know how many Americans realize that, but it really and truly does. An America led by Obama is vastly different from an America led by McCain; it's an America with which I'm not afraid to share a border.

I've only just found out about the result - I've been trying to get to a computer all day! I feel ecstatic and much more optimistic about the future now! It truly is a historic day.

I feel so hopeful now! I know Obama's not the most experienced and that he's more centrist than left (which I don't actually disagree with), but I also know that he has the power to mobilize and inspire the people of America, and that is what the country needs right now. So, yay!
