I think Gov. Paterson is determined to tax everything in New York State. My husband was looking at the Holiday Valley ski resort website when he saw a link to the Stop the Ski Tax website.

yes, it seems everyone wants to tax everything these days as if it will solved any problems. They've already voted to raise income taxes here in California, in addition to the base sales tax and our vehicle licensing fees. The best part? The wonderful people in the city of Eureka have also voted to raise our sales tax another .5%. Unfortunately around here it won't make a damn bit of difference as most people make their money under the table anyway.

The other weird thing about the CA income tax system? The brackets. You pay the maximum income tax at $40k. This means that I pay the same income taxes as any movie star or big cop orate CEO in the state. Now that doesn't seem right.
