I'm working on a layout for a business card. I'm keeping it simple, since anywaz is made in a very simplistic style. In many ways. This is what I consider the finished card, which means I'll consider it WIP tomorrow... It usually works that way for me. Reminds that I need to remake mine at some point (a new email and a decision to include my dA account later, and it's completely obsolete and scribbled on).
My creative process is pretty similar to yours. I make something, let it sit for ages, mess with it, learn to hate it, leave it a while again, get a second opinion, maybe mess with it some more, and then decide I'm too much of a perfectionist and call it done.
